Saint Patrick's Day Playdate

We had our good friends Miss Jamie, Joshua and Brianna over for a St. Patty's day playdate. The 'big kids' had fun playing beach in the basement while the Mommy's chatted and tried to keep the babies happy. After playtime we enjoyed green cupcakes and green KoolAid and then made a fun shamrock craft.
Later in the day, Kaitlyn and I went on a scavenger hunt to follow the clues that a 'leprechaun' had left for us that morning. My little "Smartie Pants" told me that leprechauns weren't real and so I must have left the clues for her ... glad she still believes in Santa Claus for now!

At the last spot, Kaitlyn found her bag of 'gold' - gold chocolate coins, that is.

So Smiley!

From the minute Kelsey wakes up, before her eyes are even fully opened, she is already cracking a smile. And her smiles are so contagious that I find myself grinning right back at her regardless of the time of day or night. About the time she was two months old, Kelsey started to giggle a little in the midst of all those smiles. So priceless. Sometimes her giggles are rather loud and she almost startles herself - its hilarious. Kaitlyn, of course gets a kick out of it! Kelsers, we love you and all of your grins and smiles, coos and goos. Thank you Lord for our happy and mostly healthy baby girl!

Growing Girl!

Monday marked Kelsey's two month birthday and boy is she growing like crazy! This week she has been in a "feeding frenzy!". Tuesday and Wednesday I fed her every hour for 11 hours straight - that is one hungry peanut! She didn't sleep well either day but I guess she couldn't sleep because she was just too hungry. As a trade off, however, she did go 7 hours both nights without eating - wow! Kaitlyn didn't do that till she was like 9 months old! We got about the same amount of sleep as usual, however because by no means is Kelsey a peaceful sleeper. She grunts, moans, squirms, grimaces and refluxes all night long, meaning she needs to be soothed back to sleep a few times each hour. Today she has slept nearly all morning - waking up to be burped and snuggled about every 45 minutes, eating every two hours, and then going back to sleep. We are looking forward to finding out her measurements at her doctors appointment tomorrow and dreading shots at the same time.

Park Time!

We took advantage of the Spring-like weather on Monday and headed to the local park. Other than going to the Doctor's and Grandma's, it was my first attempt at taking both girls anywhere. And it went well. We stopped at the fire station to introduce Kelsey to Chief Mike and Lt. Dave and then after a short chat, we headed to the park. Of course Kaitlyn wanted to swing in the babyswings first. I don't think she'll ever outgrow them. Lucky for me she is light! After playing for a while, I got Kaitlyn's tricycle out and we headed for a walk to the bridge. We picked up sticks on the way and then had 'stick boat races' in the stream under the bridge. We were there for about an hour and Kelsey slept almost the whole time! Thanks Lord for a gorgeous day and two happy little girls!
