Only in Michigan....

... is it 84 degrees one week and then 30 degrees with snow the next week. Kaitlyn felt sorry for the birds so she shook out some bird seed all over the snow covered ground before heading off to school one afternoon.

Eighty Degrees in April?!

What a treat and taste of summer we got on this Sunday when the temps topped out at 84 degrees. The girls had fun starting the day in short sleeves and capris and ending up in swimsuits. How fun it is to see sweet little bare legs and arms after they've been covered up all winter long!

Roll With me Baby!

Funny how this activity is permittable for a second child, since it meant she was occupied while I was trying to finish preparing supper. Kaitlyn never would have gotten away with it!

A Mermaid Playdate

Kaitlyn had her friend Hannah over for a mermaid themed playdate one Saturday morning. Both girls love the Disney Princess Ariel so it was a fun morning for all. We started with an 'under the sea' treasure hunt. I hid a bunch of sea related items and the girls found them. Then we played a shell number memory game and then the girls decided they wanted to build an airplane to fly to Disney. So they gathered all of the chairs in our basement, set them up in aisles and rows and transformed our basement into an airplane. They took turns being flight attendants and pushing the 'food and beverage cart' down the aisle. We ended the morning with fish shaped sugar cookies. Fun!

Blessed beyond measure!

April Fools!

Grilled cheese and red Kool Aid for lunch? Not really .... actually its pound cake with orange frosting and red jello in the cups. Boy did I have fun fooling Kaitlyn and her friend Aubrey with this little treat. Kaitlyn thought it was so much fun that she wanted to help me 'fool' Daddy too. So for dinner we made 'cupcakes with blue frosting' which was actually meatloaf in a muffin tin with blue-tinted mashed potato frosting!

An Early Egg Hunt

On a mild day, the girls had fun 'hunting' for the eggs I scattered in the lawn. Funny that they enjoy the game even when the eggs are empty!
If you look close you'll see that Kelsey is trying to reach through her legs to grab an egg that is behind her. Too funny!
Interrupting the hunt for a game of Ring Around the Rosie.
Checking out their 'finds'.
