Never too old ...

... for baby toys! Kaitlyn spent like 45 minutes making up her own game with these toys! Something about boats, rescues and 'overboard!' Oh, the power of a great imagination!

My First Baby Food

Sweet Potatoes! Kelsey loved them and they didn't upset her tummy - magnificent!

A Tent!

Scavenger Hunt

To spruce up a typical morning at the park, I printed off a list of items that we might find there, stapled it to a lunch bag and we embarked on a scavenger hunt. We found everything we were looking for except an acorn and it proved to be a fun morning!

After the hunt we went and visited the fountain. Kaitlyn had a great time splashing around; stay tuned for more pictures of fun at the fountain in July !

'Ladies in Red!'

I'm sure it is by no coincidence that both girls are dressed in red; usually Kaitlyn sees what Kelsey is wearing and then decided that she wants to wear the same color or 'theme' of outfit. Enjoy these cute pictures of my smiling Sweeties in red.

Gotcha!

How's the Weather?

We got this weather center as a gift from Grandma Jo at the beginning of last school year, but we never really played with it until this summer. When I got it out, Kaitlyn had a blast adding the weather stickers to the different parts of the country. Then we got her microphone out and pretended to be 'Weather Ladies' and gave weather reports. It was a great learning tool as I got to introduce her to the concepts of 'states' and country as well as North, South, East and West. This activity lead to us putting on commercials for different products - what a riot! Watch out Terri DeBoer ... here comes Kaitlyn Robinson! :)

Loving the Outdoors!

Here are some random picture of our family having fun outdoors this month. Playing at Millenium Park
Having fun outside at home ....

Daddy is cutting 2 feet off the top of our tree so that he can see the water ski tournament across the street!

A 'snowman' in June!
Bikes for Sale - for pretend of course.

Roller skates!

I dug out this garage sale find for some indoor fun and I was thrilled to discover that Kaitlyn loved them. She skated and skated all around the basement that day and continues to have lots of fun with them. Oh - and if you are wondering why she is wearing a 'Birthday Girl' shirt - it is because I didn't feel like fighting a battle on that morning. She told me that she wanted to 'pretend it was her birthday' so I just went with it!

Busy Mommy!

This morning Kaitlyn decided that she had super Mommy powers and that she could take care of three babies at once. Nursing one and walking two babies ... wow!
She loves using the Boppy while she 'nurses' one baby.

Leaving on a Ferry . . .

In Mid June we took our first vacation as a family of four. We took the Lake Express ferry across Lake Michigan to Milwaukee where we spent three nights at a waterpark hotel. The girls were nothing less than superb the entire time and we had just a fantastic family get-away. We visited Discovery World, the Milwaukee Zoo, the Betty Briggs Children's Museum, a few local parks, Ferch's Famous Malt Shoppe and spent countless hours at the hotel waterpark where Kaitlyn insists that she went down the water slide "HUNDREDS" of times ... and no joke - she is close to the truth! Our trips there and back on the ferry were uneventful and much, much better than had we attempted the seven hour drive. Our trip didn't go by without some excitement however, as the last night of our stay we were under a tornado warning. We got the girls to sleep in our bed and then scrambled to pack the necessities, download flashlight apps for our phones and stand attentive watch in front of the tv and the windows just waiting for our rapid exit to the hallway ... but ... lucky for us the tornado hit the next town over! All in all it was a marvellous trip - thank you Lord for such wonderful memories!

Party Time!

I bought these cool play-doh mats years ago and Kaitlyn discovered them in her closet and had a blast finishing the designs on this party themed sheet! So cute!

Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day early this year as we were on vacation on the actual day. Kaitlyn and I decorated her party room for Daddy. She even decided that we should add real marshmallows to the menu as that is she and Daddy's favorite treat. Jeff had fun opening his new indoor/outdoor thermometer gadget from me and his box full of dollar store goodies from KK! Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy ever! We love you!

Family S'mores Night

One Wednesday in June we decided to have the Alt's over for dinner on the campfire. It turned out to be an oddly cool night - perfect for hobo pies and s'mores! It was a very fun family night with delicious food and fellowship. Looking forward to some moderate summer temps so we can have a similar event soon!

Messy from her S'more!

It's Party Time!

For the last six months, Kaitlyn has been on a 'party throwing' kick. She has a whole bag of decorations and she randomly declares it 'Daddy's Birthday' or 'Mother's Day' and then proceeds to hang decorations all over the master bedroom or the living room. I love to throw parties as well so I wanted to build on this passion of hers, but in a 'less messy' way. So late one night I rearranged the basement and turned one of our rooms into a 'Party Room'. I gathered all kinds of table cloths and decorations from my tote or party stuff, fake flowers for centerpieces and then moved lots of Kaitlyn's play food sets into the room. An hour later the room was ready and I could hardly wait for Kaitlyn to see it. The next day, you should've seen her eyes light up. Immediately upon entering it, she said, "Lets have a party!" So party we did.... and have done three or four times a week since then. The party supply cupboard
