6.5 Months Old!
Kelsey's biggest accomplishment in the two weeks following her 1/2 birthday was cutting her first tooth! Hooray! Its a cute but sharp little bugger on the bottom and its neighbor is nearing the surface as well. Kelsey also is loving to play with bins of toys. I think she might have a fetish with rubbermaid totes someday like I do. :) Seriously though, I can give her a bin of her teethers or a bin of Kaitlyn's Pet Shop dolls and she will play with it for 15 minutes. She loves to push the bin far from her and then pull it close and do that over and over and then finally she'll tip it over and examine each piece. I do believe Kelsey is going to have a career as an engineer or surgeon or something that pays close attention to details, as she has quite the rigid routine that she follows when 'playing' with a toy. First she passes it from one hand to the other and then back again. Then she rotates the toy over and over again as if trying to figure out what to do with it and then of course, she puts it in her mouth. Kelsey is turning in to quite the babbler and we are loving hearing her sweet voice - me especially, as she loves to say "Mama!" We swear sometimes it sounds like she says "I love you" ... biased ears, probably! Kelsey is doing well eating baby food and we are getting braver and braver at letting her try more 'real' foods. She loves Gerber puffs and also enjoys chewing on bagels and her biter biscuits. Kels is on a decent schedule and naps once in the morning, once in the afternoon and once in the evening. She still eats a few times during the night and wakes for other unknown reasons a few more times during the night but for the most part, I can't complain. Kelsey's six month check up went well except we showed the doctor how Kelsey wasn't putting much weight on her right leg and she was concerned that Kelsey might have hip dysplasia. Praise the lord that hip xrays came back normal. Kelsey also did fine with her six months shots as well. Enjoy these pictures of our sweet babbling baby girl!
