Disclaimer

Hope you have enjoyed all the new posts about what Kaitlyn has been up to. There are lots of new posts about Kelsey too, but I am back posting them in order since I am going to print this blog as her baby book. So just go back a few pages of posts to see the. Didn't want you to think that I had forgotten about her! :)

All 'Tangled' Up!

When the Disney movie Tangled came to the theater this winter we contemplated taking Kaitlyn but declined since we weren't sure she'd like just sitting and watching a movie. But we looked forward to its release on DVD so we could watch it at home - where she can move around and play while watching. We held a movie 'premiere' playdate at our house on the day it was released on DVD. Kailtyn and her friend Hannah had fun doing Tangled themed crafts, eating a Tangled themed lunch and of course - watching the adorable movie! Decorations
Lunch - Rapunzel Hair (spaghetti) and boats to watch the lanterns from (jello and oranges!)
Crafts -
Sun medallion necklaces
Pascal party blowers
Coloring pages
Rapunzel gummis!

Secret Messages

One week I used this creative way to introduce Kaitlyn to her 'spelling words' for the week. I wrote them on flash cards with white crayon and then gave her the 'blank' pieces of paper and had her water color paint over them. She thought that was so neat and we spent a large portion of the day sending each other secret messages in this same fashion.

Gone Fishing!

Kaitlyn and Jeff invented a very fun game this Spring - fishing in the ditch. They aren't actually trying to catch anything - Kaitlyn just has fun casting and then reeling in the fish-shaped weight that is attached to the fishing line. Too fun!

Preschoolers!

Oh how Kaitlyn loves to pretend she is a teacher. On this day, she loaded up her 'van' with students. It was 'Wear something on your head' day - notice that each student has a hat or headband on. Once at school she decided they should take a field trip to an ice arena to do some ice dancing. So she packed their dance 'skates'.
And we put them in costume -notice the tutus and crowns - and loaded them into the 'bus'.
Then she gave lessons.
And even did flashcards with them.
Oh boy did we have fun that day while Kelsey napped!

Rainbows

I meant to do this art project before St. Patrick's day, but we ran out of time. We might also try this in the driveway when the weather warms up. Kaitlyn loved painting with the roller.

Off to the School Playground

We took our first trip to the local elementary school playgrounds in mid March and both girls had fun. There are five different playgrounds to visit surrounding the schools and we hit all of them!
Kelsey found a shovel at the preschool playground.
Riding in style to the next playground. She thought it was fun to drag her fingers. Thank goodness she had mittens on!

Art Show!

After missing two weeks of school with Bronchitis, Kaitlyn had a pile of 'homework'. This is the completed pile of papers and projects that she brought home. She decided she would set up an art show to make a profit on her fine work! :)

St. Patrick's Day

We had so much fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day this year. In anticipation of the holiday, we made rainbow pancakes! We found an adorable craft to make for her teachers. I can't remember which site I saw it on, but if you goodSo sweet!

Kaitlyn made a short visit to preschool that day since she was not quite over her bronchitis. I brought her just long enough for snack and the 'Leprechaun Hunt'.
Her class had fun following the little green 'guys' footprints all around school. When they returned to their classroom, they found it turned 'upside down' with chairs knocked over and coats pulled off hooks. But they didn't mind picking up the mess because they found a pot of 'gold' and lots of gold coins scattered around the room.

Here they are looking for gold coins.

We decorated shamrocks by first dipping an egg whip in glue, then pressing it on paper and sprinkling glitter over the glue. We also had fun making rainbow cupcakes.

On the actual holiday, Kaitlyn awoke to shiny shamrocks scattered all over the house and clues that led her from room to room until she found a 'pot of gold' in the kitchen.

And Kelsey was here for all the fun too but this is the only photo I snapped of her ... contemplating whether or not she wants to eat her green pancake!

Heading Outside

Kelsey just loves the outdoors - especially playing in the water. We are going to have fun this summer for sure. Enjoy these glimpses of some of her recent explorations!
Bubbles -her absolute favorite ... and what a pro she is with the big bubble wand!

What is this and why is it following me?
