All Polished Up

For a few weeks this summer, Kaitlyn and I thought Kelsey was really into 'This Little Piggy', because she often would come up to our feet (that had painted toenails) and one by one tap on each of our toes. But I realized that wasn't the case on the morning where she first tapped on my red toenail and then grabbed a crayon and attempted to color her own big toenail ... she was not trying to do 'This Little Piggy' after all ... the poor sweetheart was feeling left out that her 'little piggies' weren't painted! And so the fun began. Kelsey will sit perfectly still with her feet flat or her hands flat and let you paint away. If you miss a finger, she is the first to point out that one of her digits doesn't have polish. She also tries to help you blow on her firngers/toes to dry the paint more quickly. Its just adorable. Kaitlyn gets such a kick out if too. I'm sure it won't be long before Kaitlyn is painting Kelsey's toes on her own. I made sure to mention that that was not permissible at this point! Now, whenever you say the word 'paint', Kelsey immediately runs off to the bathroom and comes back with a couple colors of nail polish. And if during the day Kelsey randomly looks down at her hands or feet and notices that the poish has come off of one digit, she again, darts off for the polish and requests that they be repainted. Oh how I am loving my 'Girly Girls!'

Oh so proud of her pretty fingernails!

Laundry

One Saturday morning while Jeff was away I attempted to wash the bedding. Attemped is the key word. The girls saw the two laundry baskets lined up at the gate at the top of the stairs and it only took minutes before the laundry was in a big pile, and the baskets carried everything else but laundry for the rest of the morning ... including kids!

Mother's Day 2011

I couldn't be more blessed to be the wife of a wonderful husband and the Mommy to two sweet, sweet daughters. Mother's Day 2011 for me included lots of snuggle time with my girls, a morning outdoor jog - my favorite, lots of time spent with family and plenty of sunshine - perfect! Snuggling with my 'early riser '.... who hates covers - I promise I am not just hogging them!
My gifts - some new craft punches, a pizza pan and some new pot holders - everything I asked for!
The luckiest Mommy ever!

Playing with the cousins at Grandma Jo's.

I just love Kelsey's pose in this one!

She tried over and over unsuccessfully to get both of her hands to reach the sides of the bench at once.

Easter Egg Hunt

The day before Easter we went to our favorite local Easter Egg Hunt. It was cold and damp but we dressed warm and had fun. Last year Kaitlyn would only pick up the pink and purple eggs. This year she grabbed as many as her little hands could pick up out of the wet grass. Its amazing how far she has come in a year!

All tuckered out from a busy morning!

St. Patrick's Day

We had so much fun celebrating St. Patrick's Day this year. In anticipation of the holiday, we made rainbow pancakes! We found an adorable craft to make for her teachers. I can't remember which site I saw it on, but if you goodSo sweet!

Kaitlyn made a short visit to preschool that day since she was not quite over her bronchitis. I brought her just long enough for snack and the 'Leprechaun Hunt'.
Her class had fun following the little green 'guys' footprints all around school. When they returned to their classroom, they found it turned 'upside down' with chairs knocked over and coats pulled off hooks. But they didn't mind picking up the mess because they found a pot of 'gold' and lots of gold coins scattered around the room.

Here they are looking for gold coins.

We decorated shamrocks by first dipping an egg whip in glue, then pressing it on paper and sprinkling glitter over the glue. We also had fun making rainbow cupcakes.

On the actual holiday, Kaitlyn awoke to shiny shamrocks scattered all over the house and clues that led her from room to room until she found a 'pot of gold' in the kitchen.

And Kelsey was here for all the fun too but this is the only photo I snapped of her ... contemplating whether or not she wants to eat her green pancake!

Fun with 'Mush'

Per Kaitlyn, sand + water = 'mush'. And playing in pink and purple 'mush' = hours of fun!

'Mush' anyone?
