Reindeer Food

Last year both Kaitlyn's dance teacher and Kaitlyn's preschool teacher taught Kaitlyn about Reindeer Food. So this year we made it on our own. We mixed up oatmeal, raisins, stale cereal (lol!), glitter and sprinkles, stirred it all up and then poured it into cute Reindeer bags. Then we waited until Christmas Eve and sprinkled it all over the lawn. It worked. Santa and the Reindeer did find our house.

Fun Indoors

Well this winter didn't bring much snow but it did bring some cold temps and we have had lots of fun indoors. Take a peek . . .
Acting out the nativity story ... Kelsey loved being a King

And Kaitlyn makes the perfect Mary ...

Having fun making paint foot prints

I didn't snap a lot of pictures of our Random Acts of Christmas Kindness  but here we are taping quarters to vending machines at GVSU. :)

Christmas Cookie Party

In early December we had some friends over to  join us in some cookie decorating fun. The older girls worked like crazy finishing six different decorating projects. The littler kids had fun joining in too. It was a fun and memorable night.

Kelsey really just wanted Mommy most of the night and since I was busy helping decorate, Daddy did a good job of entertaining her.

Christmas Time!!

We officially kicked off 'Christmas Time' at our house this year with a trip to the annual Hudsonville Christmas parade. As usual we met friends at McDonalds before the parade and although the girls were sick  - Kaitlyn had mono and Kelsey had a cold - we still had a good time.
Playing Ring Around the Rosie!

And then after the parade, its our tradition to put up the Christmas tree. Only this year we had all the ornaments and lights but we could not for the life of us find the tree. Jeff even drove all the way back to his work to look for it, as that is where we store it. Then, my mom called and reminded us that our tree broke last year and we threw it away. So Jeff buzzed up to the local hardware store and scored us a gorgeous new pre-lit tree. And then the decorating began!

Our Christmas Tree 2011 ... and my Christmas Cuties!

Busy Morning

One morning Kelsey was playing with her animals and I decided to get out some finger paint paper and shaving cream and show her how to 'walk' her animals through the 'snow'.
 ... and Kaitlyn joined in.
Then the animals needed a bath so we moved into the bathroom. And then the animals were hungry so we got out our foam 'vegetables'.
Which gave Kaitlyn the idea that she wanted to make 'Turkey Soup'....
But soon Kelsey was sick of the animals so she played in the water with her toothbrush....
... and then on the floor with her, now clean, animals.....
... and all the while Kaitlyn's 'soup' was simmering on the 'stove'.... and finally ready to be served!

Sweet Sweet Sisters

Kelsey wakes up much earlier than Kaitlyn and she is overjoyed to hear Kaitlyn call out to me frmo her room when she is ready to get up each morning. She runs to Kaitlyns room and gets on her tippy toes trying to get in Kaitlyns (tall) bed. On this day she brought along her purse full of bracelets to show Kaitlyn.

The girls doing 'Daddy Stuff'! Praise the Lord that Jeff's back is improving enough to reinstate these fun nightly rituals!
