Easter Day!

We had a wonderful day celebrating our Risen Savior this Easter. The gorgeous weather just topped off the day spent with family, perfectly. Because we celebrated Easter earlier in the month with my parents and siblings and also with Jeff's Dad, we had a much less hectic day. The Easter Bunny got a little carried away this year!
Check out the size of that chocolate bunny! Kaitlyn was in heaven! Although I don't think it has been opened, yet!
Kelsey's favorite gift - her Dora magnet book - no surprise there! Attempting a picture of the girls together.... no such luck!

On the way to Grandma Greats - Kelsey is trying to steal something from her sister!
The kids had a very fun Easter egg hunt after dinner at Grandma Greats. Kelsey found an egg with these gummy teeth inside of them. She chewed on them - wrapper and all - for the next twenty minutes!

Finding eggs! Thanks to Grandma Jo for filling all 80 of them!

See that scratch on her nose? There is such a story behind it. She fell in the driveway and scratched her nose and bit her lip. I scooped her up and rushed in the house to get a wet washcloth for her, but I paid no attention to the open baby gate and instead ran right into it, caught my pants on the bottom of it and proceeded to push it so far the wrong way that it broke off the wall, tripping me, all the while Kelsey is still screaming in my arms. Talk about drama! Luckily I managed to keep Kelsey inches away from crashing into the bathroom counter when I fell. . . and Jeff spent the next two hours repairing the wall and gate that I broke! :/
My beautiful family - so richly blessed!
Kelsey ended up napping at Grandma Great's which meant we got to stay even longer. Kaitlyn was thrilled because that meant she got to play more rounds of this incredibly fun game called Hedbandz with her cousins.

Easter Egg Hunt

The day before Easter we went to our favorite local Easter Egg Hunt. It was cold and damp but we dressed warm and had fun. Last year Kaitlyn would only pick up the pink and purple eggs. This year she grabbed as many as her little hands could pick up out of the wet grass. Its amazing how far she has come in a year!

All tuckered out from a busy morning!

Earth Day!

Besides talking about ways to 'reduce, reuse and recycle' on Earth Day this year, we made some fun flowers out of recycled craft supplies and cake balls that looked like Earth. We also got the globe out and did a bit of a geography lesson during which I was astonished when Kaitlyn remembered and pointed out where China was. Such a Smartie!

Preschool Easter Egg Hunt

Kaitlyn's sweet preschool teachers staged an Easter egg hunt for them and then were nice enough to let Mom's (and baby sisters) come to watch the fun. Ready, set go!

Kelsey watching the action. She did pick up a few eggs. The other kids got SOOO many eggs; it was fantastic!
On the way back to her classroom I snapped a picture of the mural up in the showcase. She is pictured in the blue flower below.

... and there were even more eggs hidden in their classroom when they returned.

Kelsey playing stickers and looking at her Dora book while Kaitlyn emptied her plastic eggs. It was Kaitlyn's turn to bring home the snack bag that day too!

Easter Time

With Easter coming 'late' this year, it seems like we had extra time to celebrate the holiday and prepare for the Resurrection of our Savior! Kelsey's first visit with the Easter Bunny!
Kaitlyn finding eggs with words on them and sorting them into the right word family.

Decorating eggs...

The finished product!
Getting ready to 'paint' with plastic eggs!

Not sure what is prettier, the eggs or the paper egg that we decorated. We got this neat idea from Tinkerlab's facebook page.
