Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Morning....

Tuesday Kaitlyn had a bad day. I'm not sure if she had fluid in her ears or if her balance was off or if she just had some bad luck, but she got hurt at least four times before noon. Poor peanut! And our friends Ms. Meredith and Josie were over to witness all of Kaitlyn's owies. Actually, they did a great job of cheering her up and coaxing her off my lap each time she got hurt - thanks friends! First, Kaitlyn was showing Josie the swing that we have inside our house and she was swinging on it like superman on her belly. Well somehow she ended up landing on her nose (I was getting food out of the oven and actually missed this fall). But the bridge of her poor nose must have taken the blunt of the fall because it was red and puffy for the rest of the day. No blood that time. However, after lunch the girls went outside to play in the water table and pool. Kaitlyn was standing on the first step of the slide that we put into her pool and she slipped and banged her mouth right into the slide. This time she put her front teeth through the inside of her upper lip so there was lots of blood. :( She ended up with a bruised, fat lip that she still has today. Poor Princess. Paci, blankie and the Nemo icepack helped her recover that time and about 10 minutes later she decided she wanted to get off my lap and "Try again" as she put it. I was so proud of her. And Josie was so excited to have her swimming buddy back. Things went ok for a few minutes and then as K was trying to run in the grass she slipped or something and ended up doing basically a summer sault in the grass. She was tough that time and was happy once I brushed the grass off of her. The playdate ended shortly there after when K slipped trying to climb up the slide (naughty girl...) and banged her chin.

I tried to take some pictures of the owies but my camera won't focus on them so the pictures don't turn out.

I gave her a big dose of Tylenol before her nap and she slept 3 hours and woke up pretty happy at 5. The evening was owie free and I think we were both relieved! Last night Jeff had fire training and the theme was water rescue so they were doing the training in the gravel pits located "somewhere" near our house. We got some vague directions and attempted to find them but after driving for at least a mile on a two track very unsafe road, we decided to give up. I told Kaitlyn we were going on a jungle safari and so she was looking for giraffe's out the window. I love the innocence and imagination at this age - priceless! When Jeff got home late last night she said in the cutest voice, "Daddy has been found!"
