"You take it for me!"

Last week Friday I took Kaitlyn to the doctor because we thought she had a bladder infection. The results of the urine test came back inconclusive so the doctor gave us antibiotic to start while they waited for the culture to come back. Well it turns out that Kaitlyn DESPISED the medicine and even though she will very cooperatively take Zyrtec, Motrin or Tylenol ... this was one time that she was not going to cooperate. And the worst part ... I had to give it to her twice a day for 10 days! I bribed her with slushies, pop, chocolate and treats. Then I tried taking things away - toys and even her paci. Nothing worked. Each time I told her it was medicine time she ran to her room and hid in the closet. And each time I had to wrestle my sweet peanut to the floor and pin her arms down and shoot the thick, pink liquid into her mouth as she screamed like crazy. I thought that was the worst it could ever get .. and then one time she cried out .. "Mommy ... can't you just take it for me?" Ohhhh.... how I wished!
The Lord answered Kaitlyn and my prayers because the doctor's office called first thing Monday morning to tell me that the culture was negative and we could stop the medicine. Kaitlyn and I did a "happy dance" like none other. Now I pray she never, ever, ever has to take anything like that again!
Picnicing at the park before the dr.'s appt.
Searching for pink stones at the Dr.'s office.
Grandma called as I was attempting to give her the first dose and felt so bad for Kaitlyn that she came over to visit as a treat.

I bet that Emma is on the same med that Kaitlyn was...as she did have a bladder infection that I took her in for last week monday. And Emma HATES taking it as well. We even threaten taking her to the hospital for 'pokies' and that doesn't even seem to be working!

Been there done with with antibotics. Not for a UTI, but it still sucks. I'm glad your prayers were answered and you didn't have to endure that for 10 days. The last time Koop needed an antibotic I pleaded for the shot as I couldn't fight daily for that long. Just a thought if it ever comes to that again. I'm sure you already thought about it though.
