"Azul Day"
I picked one day of each week for this month to focus on a color. The first week we did red (rojo), last week was blue (azul) and this week was green (verde) for St. Patty's Day. Kaitlyn has known her colors for years, but this "theme for the day" activity is giving her a chance to learn all of the colors in Spanish and also helping to spruce up our play for the day by giving us things to focus on. On Rojo Day, we dressed in red, ate sausage and ketchup for breakfast and spaghetti for lunch, played Red Light, Green Light and sang "Bumpin Up and Down in my Little Red Wagon". Last week on Azul Day, we dressed in blue, made blueberry muffins for breakfast, played the blue sky - rainbow game and read one of Kaitlyn's favorite book about kids going swimming and ate blue finger jello. As you can tell, I'm not putting too much time into these special days, just enough to give us something to look forward to.
