Empuje' .....

... that is the spanish translation for "Push!". Our little princess has picked up this word and so much Spanish vocabulary from watching 90 minutes of Dora each day that it is incredible. Yes, we are finally having to limit her tv watching because for the first time in her life she will sit and watch Dora and do nothing else ... for hours ... if you would let her.

Pretending to be Dora, and acting out her adventures has become Kaitlyns FAVORITE pasttime. Even my Dad had to watch a Dora episode so he could understand what Kaitlyn was doing when she made my dad "climb in a boat and row through Crocodile lake." I have to admit that these games really stretch my imagination and make me think quick. I have to come up with different places for us to go on our adventures. So far we have pillow mountain ( a mountain of couch pillows on the floor that we have to climb over), turtle river (hoops that we have to jump through, like the turtles that Dora jumps on), snowy mountain (a big pile of styrofoam peanuts that we pretend to climb up), our boat to cross crocodile lake (the laundry basket) ... and so many more. I wish there was a way to capture all of this on video. Out of the blue Kaitlyn will just pretend that she is stuck somewhere. And then I will have to be Dora and go get my backpack and find the rescue rope and pretent to pull her out. Maybe she will have a career in acting - she does it so well!

One key character in many Dora episodes is the Grumpy Old Troll. He always makes you solve a riddle before you can cross his bridge. Well the sweek Gingerbread baking Snowman that sits in my kitchen has now become the Grumpy Old Troll and is part of our many daily Dora adventures!
