Fun with Peppermint

We have been busy doing all kinds of holiday crafts this month. Kaitlyn actually as less interest in crafts this year than she did last year, but I can usually keep her attention for about 10 minutes. Last week we spent a few days talking about candy canes, how they look like the letter "J" for Jesus and also a Shepherds staff. We also explored their unique peppermint smell. Then I mixed some red finger paint with some peppermint flavoring and some shaving cream. Kaitlyn had a blast squishing the minty smelling puffy mixture between her fingers. Lastly we cut out a candy cane shape, added some of our red, peppermint paint mixture to a box, dropped some marbles in and teeter-tottered the box until the marbles had made a beautiful striped design. Fun!
